This data set contains counts of AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) cases reported to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) by state and local health departments, by demographics and location (region and selected metropolitan areas). The case reports are collected by the HIV/AIDS Reporting System. The data set is created each year by the Division of HIV/AIDS Prevention, National Center for HIV, STD, and TB Prevention, CDC, and contains information extracted from CDC's national AIDS surveillance data base.
